Inside the Newsroom: How the Media Class Covers Buc Athletics

Meet the students running social, photography, and game recaps like a real sports desk — deadlines, cameras, and all.

Every Friday night, while the Bucs are battling on the field, a different team is working the sidelines: the Haughton High Media Class. Cameras, laptops, and a shared editorial board keep the whole operation moving.

"We run it like a real newsroom," says the class editor. "Photographers shoot, writers file recaps, and editors push everything through drafts before it goes live."

The workflow is simple but strict: every story moves from Draft to Needs Photo to Published. Nothing goes out without a byline and a second set of eyes.

This site is the newest part of the operation — a home for every recap, gallery, and feature the class produces all season long.
